My husband and I love entertaining and hanging out with our friends, but every once in a while, we just want a date night! Normally that involves us meeting up downtown and going to a restaurant or a show or whatever else comes to mind that week, but we’re adventurous and we like to do things that are, well, experiences. That’s when How About We {for Couples} and I found each other.
How About We {for Couples} is an organization that creates great experiences for couples. Their goal is to research and provide “date experiences” for couples who want that extra touch of romance, or just something special. For instance, why not take your significant other to a sold-out play or exclusive engagement, have a full tasting menu with complimentary champagne at a fine dining restaurant, or escape to a bed and breakfast with a hiking, spa, and fireside dinner package provided? If that sounds like your cup of tea, check out How About We {for Couples}. They’re sending us to a wonderful play tonight – I can’t wait to see how it goes! But from working with the dating concierge service {a personal planner helps you with your date}, I’m expecting a quality experience. And I’m dressing the part, too {it wouldn’t be a Friday style post without fashion, would it?}:
Trina Turk lace dress + Grayce necklace + Kate Spade bag + Ajaka earrings + Gucci shoes
Every once in a while, especially for date night, I want something feminine {translation: with lace, sparkles, or both}. The answer for tonight’s date is this Trina Turk dress and accessories which will, thanks to the “snowquester” that migrated up the coast to New York, be paired with my heavy overcoat and black tights. I was very excited to find all of these great items {minus the shoes} on Rent The Runway - and even more excited to see that Rent the Runway is partnered with How About We for great discounts, so taking a great date night – and looking the part – doesn’t have to be a strain on the bank.
If you and your date need a date night, check out How About We and see if there are date experiences in your area – and for all the single ladies as well, there’s How About We experiences for singles as well!
Here’s hoping everyone has a great weekend!

P.S. I have received discount experiences from How About We and Rent the Runway but nothing that wouldn’t be afforded any other member!

That’s so interesting! My boyfriend and I have become total homebodies this winter, we could probably use a program like that! Love the dress, very romantic!
I adore that Trina Turk dress (and everything she makes, really). And what an awesome idea, a date night concierge! My hubby and I could use that. Hope you have a great one!
oh I love that DRESS! you’ll be smashing. I like the sound of getting someone to help plan dates because sometimes I feel like it’s hard to be creative when there’s so much else going on, but I have to admit that I’d have to keep the service from Jon – he’d probably be horrified that something like this exists! but then again, his romance is the old-fashioned kind… not that there’s anything wrong with a classic dinner-and-a-movie combo
Betsy, I kind of group it in with LivingSocial and Groupon – a way to get a designed experience at a discount from a brand that’s trying to get their name on the market. It gives you a great opportunity – but you still have to supply your own romance
My husband and I have actually talked about whether it’s worth it to have “planned” dates – because it’s more romantic to cook meals for each other and cozy up in our own house. But sometimes we just need that change of pace, to restore some of the giddy feeling we had when we were first dating. Like this last date – I met my husband in Grand Central Terminal, all dressed up, and he hadn’t seen what I was going to look like yet, so it was a big surprise to him.
